Cursor no longer shows usage summary in the agent chat, even when the “Usage Summary” setting (under “Agents”) is set to “Always”.

Hey, thanks for the report.
We don’t see other confirmations yet. Please help clarify:
Screenshots: Settings > Agents with the Usage Summary option, and how the agent chat looks without the percentage
Reproducibility: in a new chat, after a full Cursor restart
Models: is the bug only with Composer 1 or with others too?
When it started: right after updating to 2.1.47
Console: open Help > Toggle Developer Tools, go to Console, reproduce the issue, and share the errors
Quick checks:
Toggle Agents > Usage Summary: Always → Never → Always, then restart Cursor
Create a new empty Workspace and check if Usage Summary appears
Share the results so we can localize the issue faster.

Situation seems the same for all models.
I tried toggling the setting and restarting between toggles - no change.
Also tried different workspaces, and both local and remote workspaces.
Cleared the dev-console, then opened a new chat - no errors printed.
Also updated to latest (2.1.50) and still doesn’t work.

Hey, I’m seeing the exact same problem! Summary is set to “always” and I can’t see it anymore where it used to be. I was heavily relying on it and showed many engineers in my team how to monitor it - but now it is gone for everyone.

Same here. Usage summary setting is set to “Always” and the usage summary doesn’t show up where it used to below the chat.

I have the same issue on MacOS.

I’ve tried logging in and out, rebooting, bouncing the setting back and forth to Always. The usage summary never shows up.

Same problem since ~2 days ago the new merged agent/editor views, it doesn’t show summary even when set to always, or auto…
Same problem, the summary disappeared from the bottom of the pane a few weeks ago and has not been visible since. In settings it still says Always.
Same issue. Please fix and add tests so this stays fixed.

This entire feature is gone? I couldnt even find the option in UI anymore
not sure if it’ll work for others but i didn’t have an on demand spend limit on my account. (it was set to unlimited) setting a usage cap made the usage show up again in chat.
however the option seems to be gone from settings too
