Agent window makes my pc on fire 🔥

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Recently I was trying to use agent window but it seems to not be optimized.
Using Agent Window my pc temperature reached 85 degrees. After I turned it off, my pc temperature decreased to 65 degress.

I think there is something wrong with it, 20 ºC is too much difference.

:fire::fire::fire::fire::fire::fire:

Steps to Reproduce

Use Agent Window

Expected Behavior

Should work without increasing the pc temperature too much

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. High CPU usage in the Agent Window (Glass) is on our radar. It’s part of a cluster of known performance bugs in this mode. I can’t share an ETA for a fix yet.

To help with debugging, could you please send:

  • A Task Manager screenshot while the CPU is high, which Cursor process is using CPU (main, extensionHost, renderer)
  • How many agents you have running at the same time, and how large the workspace is
  • Whether it also happens in an empty project with no active agents

Related thread for context: Laggy typing in agents window. I’ll post an update here once I have one.
