Docs say user-level skills live in both ~/.cursor/skills/ and ~/.agents/skills/, but Sync Skills for Cloud Agents only copies ~/.cursor/skills/.
~/.agents/skills/ is where npx skills and the Agent Skills layout put personal skills. Today you have to reverse-symlink everything into ~/.cursor/skills/ or they never reach Cloud Agents.
Please sync ~/.agents/skills/ as well (or follow/copy symlink targets under ~/.cursor/skills/).
Today the sync intentionally covers only ~/.cursor/skills, and the docs call that out (project skills and ~/.agents/skills stay local). Symlinked entries inside ~/.cursor/skills are also skipped by the sync right now, which we know about and are tracking.
So the reliable setup at the moment is what you described: keep the real skill folders in ~/.cursor/skills and point ~/.agents/skills at them. We’ve passed along the request to pick up ~/.agents/skills directly (or dereference symlinks) so the npx skills layout works without the extra step!
