The autocomplete feature can be both very helpful and a real hindrance. When it’s in a good mood it’s really great, but more often than not I find myself battling with it in a variety of ways.
Probably one of the most irritating ones is when it keeps on suggesting completions I dismissed just a second or two before (and then again, and then again, etc).
A top quality feature would be for the user to be able to trigger a different suggestion with a skip option if none was the right fit.
Failing that, from my POV it would still be a big win if it just stopped making the same suggestion and was quiet until it had something new to say.
Failing that, it would still be some kind of mercy upon my thought process if there was just a crude timeout after hitting Esc, or if there was an option to reduce the suggestion rate, to slow it down from suggesting the same things over and over and over…
