Always apply changes on current state of code

Is there a way to ensure that any code changes that are suggested by the AI always work with the code in it’s LATEST incarnation as the base?

It sometimes seems to keep incorporating old suggestions along with new ones in snippets of code that it suggests… instead when it’s asked a question it should apply just the changes related to the question to the current state of code.

It’s almost like one needs to work with AI 100%… i.e. if you dont like a change it’s suggested or made, you should ask it to make the change, rather than change the file yourself and move to the next question, which is when it seems to refer to it’s previous states rather than the current code.

I requested this somewhere, too. Context was “apply changes”.

Workaround can be to open a new chat to get rid of old context, but painful.
