At the top panel we have button like project tree, git status, extensions, background agents and others.
Steps to Reproduce
When I click on project tree the notification appears at the bottom of the screen.
“You can toggle the sidebar with Ctrl+B or via Layout Controls in the top-right corner” and two buttons “Dismiss” and “Hide Sidebar”.
It’s easy to trigger this notification multiple times even if you’ve already dismissed it, it will appear again.
If you click on project tree button it will appear each time.
Maybe something else can trigger this notification appearance because I saw it many times. But I’m not sure.
I don’t like seeing it multiple times even if I dismissed it many times before.
Hey, thanks for the report. Does clicking the Dismiss button not help? Does the notification appear again? Also, please try turning off tips. Hopefully that helps.
A month has passed… why isn’t the behavior of clicking the button again simply closing the sidebar? Is this deviation purely to be ‘different’ from VS Code? I’m familiar with the shortcuts for expanding or searching, but accidentally triggering the pop-up and then having to move the mouse to dismiss the notification is frustrating.
@deanrie please, please do something about this issue. After a few months it has moved from “huh” to “rrr” to “AAARGH” and no amount of clicking or tweaking the settings helps.
