I really don’t appreciate being forced to use openAI even if my chosen model is still displaying 3.5 Sonnet. It’s ambiguous.

They should at least disable unavailable models in the selection and switch to OpenAI when they do that.

Cursor should not switch to another model without our permission. Moreover, currently cluade is responding to 3-5 sonnet api

The issue i notice now is that the model its fallen back too doesn’t help, it tells me how i should do stuff myself instead. Right now i spent a bunch of requests on just trying to make it do what its supposed to do.

I would very much prefer it not fallback to another model because it’s a waste of quota and resources

i was definitely in the middle of something and then this started… and I"m stuck. Switching to another model sucks, it just writes where to look for issues apply doesn’t work. It’s a waste of requests.

i am totally beginner, and i am wondering. If the previous model(code) is done with Claude, won’t it just tend to yield more error due to a sudden change to openAI model? It might be my illusion but it will be great if any experts can share some thoughts. As beginners, my gut feeling tells me to postpone my work a little bit until it is back to normal
