Anyone else using Cursor for both coding and note-taking?

Hey folks,

I have been using Cursor as my main code editor for a few weeks now and I am loving the AI features—it is like having a smart coding buddy.

I have also started using it to jot down ideas, notes & even rough project outlines. Kinda surprised how clean and distraction-free it feels for non-coding stuff too. The Markdown support is a nice bonus.

The other day I was writing out steps for a Python tutorial in it and it actually felt way smoother than using a separate notes app or markdown editor.

Curious if anyone else here is using Cursor this way—like more as a hybrid space for coding organizing thoughts? Or is that just me overusing the tool?

Also i have check this Cursor AI acting weird for anyone else? Want to hear how others are mixing their workflows or any cool hacks/tips you have discovered while using Cursor outside of the usual coding stuff.

Thank you.

Oh my… this
I have started toying with the idea as using Cursor as the 2nd brain that Obsidian never actually was (well for me anyway). Think how much more you could actually do using Cursor to organise notes, then build mini apps off that data. And then add git for versioning control and remote repo, then MCP and bang! Certainly I am tentatively working towards this…

Yes this works very well as you can edit MD files well with cursor and make diagrams (mermaid). Not just editing by yourself but also with the Agent.
