Hey there! This is expected behavior right now, not a bug.
You were on Auto, which routed this turn to Cursor’s Grok 4.5. AskQuestion is intentionally turned off for Grok 4.5 at the moment (in every mode, including Plan mode), so it asks its clarifying questions inline in the chat instead of using the structured picker. That’s why the model reported the tool as unavailable.
If you want the multiple-choice picker for a step, switch to Composer 2.5 (or another non-Grok model) - that’s the difference you’d see comparing them. Pinning a specific model instead of Auto also keeps these turns off Grok.
It’s a known limitation we’re looking at. A few others are tracking the same thing here.
