Auto-Run in Sandbox config disappeared in clients

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

All auto run stopped functioning today due to auto run in sandbox being removed without notice.

In our org settings, we still have sandboxing mode enabled which still states “commands can auto-run in a sandbox even without being on the allowlist”.

All evidence of auto-run in sandbox has disappeared from the cursor ide sometime this afternoon in the last ~6 hours.

Steps to Reproduce

Run any prompt that will trigger a command with auto run controls on for an organization.

Expected Behavior

Auto run in sandbox should be available

Operating System

MacOS

Version Information

2.4.35

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report. A couple quick questions to narrow this down:

  1. Can you send a screenshot of what Cursor Settings > Agents looks like right now? I’m especially interested in the auto-run mode dropdown and anything related to the sandbox.
  2. What’s your exact update channel, Stable or Early Access? (You can check this in Help > About)
  3. Did you try restarting Cursor after this happened?
  4. Are other users in your org seeing the same thing, or is it only on your machine?

This will help us figure out whether this is a client-side org settings sync issue or something bigger. I’ll share the details with the team as soon as we have a clearer picture.

I have a concurrent support case open with priority. They’ve raised to the engineering team.

We confirmed that we did not make any changes to our admin settings through our audit log, it started affecting all users in our org this afternoon, and “re-saving” the auto run controls fixed the issue though there was no content update / setting change as indicated by the audit log on the re-save.
