Github issues is the best way to plan tasks for Background Agents.
Now we only need a way for Cursor to work on top of it, similar to @claude from Anthropic.
Example from Claude: Reorganize agent's screen tabs · Issue #609 · deco-cx/chat · GitHub
The killer feature will be correctly running compiler and linting (which I believe BA intend to).

It should work with Background Agents, sure it would be cooler directly from issues

Why is Github where next-gen software engineering will happen?
The best UI/UX to interact with CI capabilities (testing, deploy preview)
Built-in project management (Linear-like) tools to discuss and refine product requirements
Powerful API to bring external apps in (Figma automatically commenting on issues)
Pull Request review UX well polished
I know they might do something of themselves that might conflict with Cursor. But, even with that, I think it’s worth being there.
What Cursor does best:
Smart context providing (cache, apply models)
Background Agents infra with capabilities (running compilers, linters)
Being as fast and as accurate as possible
This is very useful if coupled with Github.
Rebuilding Github UX is feasible, but I don’t know…

Hi there!
Is there a chrome extension/github integration for Cursor where inside of the Github website, I can go to an issue and ask Cursor to start a background job to fix the issue?
Asking because I’m in love with the Slack integration and would love something similar for issues/comment threads in Github.
Thanks a lot!

I think they are almost there. It already works now for BA PRs. So we only need to be able to start it from issues and with its context.
