I’ve been getting this error and couldn’t complete anything for days - anyone has the same issue?

Yes - Cursor is unusable

And the funny thing is, your system still counted my request, despite it’s “BAD request”. Luckily I tried the free model after figuring out this. Please fix this ASAP !!

Hey, thanks for the report. This error has a known fix that’s already helped several users.

Please try the following:

  • Disable MCP servers (most common cause): Cursor Settings → MCP → disable any enabled MCP servers
  • Start a new chat – does the error still occur in new chats?

If the issue is still there:

  • Settings → Network → Run Diagnostics
  • Settings → search for “HTTP/2” → enable “Disable HTTP/2” (especially if you’re on a VPN)

Great. Thanks for the help. It’s indeed a MCP issue - one of my MCPs has some issue showing yellow sign. Cursor comes back to work after I disabled that MCP.

somebody should mention this to Cursor support team. I’m completely non-tech, I’ve got the same issue (and often). If the thing doesn’t work then fix it - Don’t expect me to know how to fix what tech stuff I ask the AI to do.
