Billing bug: Users are being billed for extra fast premium requests "beyond quota" when ... they are not beyond quota

Fast requests will refresh in 20 days

Premium models – 433 / 2000
You’ve used 433 requests out of your 2000 monthly fast requests quota.

221 extra fast premium requests beyond 2000/month * 4 cents per such request $8.84

Why would one get billed for “extra” if one has not exceeded their quota? Can someone explain?

anybody?

Hey, which models have you used? There are models not included in your subscription, like Claude Max, Gemini Max, GPT-4.5, o3, and o1. If you used any of them, you would incur additional charges. You can check the prices and models here:

You can also disable the usage-based pricing option in your account settings to avoid exceeding your costs.

please see the above. those other items you mentioned are itemized independently and this issue is specifically regarding charges for overages above the quota.

Here’s the full breakdown:

Premium models: 450 / 2000
You’ve used 450 requests out of your 2000 monthly fast requests quota.

The issue:

221 extra fast premium requests beyond 2000/month * 4 cents per such request $8.84
126 premium tool calls * 5 cents per tool call $6.30
30 claude-3.7-sonnet-max requests * 5 cents per such request $1.50
16 claude-3.7-sonnet-thinking-max requests * 5 cents per such request $0.80

I’ve used 450 requests out of 2000 so why am i being charged for extra 126 beyond the 2000?

126 tool calls, this means that when you use Claude Max, you are charged for each tool call. Read more about it here:

Yes that is why I’m referring to the number above it. The line in bold. It’s 221. Sorry 126 was a clear typo given max is a clearly stated line item which already says Claude sonnet 3.7 Max. That is not what I am referring to. Please read the words I wrote:

221 extra fast premium requests beyond 2000/month * 4 cents per such request

This does not describe max at all. Thanks.

@danperks

Hey, due to when these invoices are processed, the overage you have paid for is likely from the month prior, and doesn’t always line up exactly with your billing month!
