Billing: Cannot set Spend Limit to 0 or disable limit

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Somewhere else…

Describe the Bug

Spend Limit settings do not allow setting the limit to 0 and there is no clear way to disable the limit state.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Billing settings. 2) Go to Set Spend Limit. 3) Try to set value to 0 or disable the limit. 4) UI only exposes preset amounts ($50/$100/$200/$500), Unlimited, and Custom; 0/disabled path is unavailable.

Expected Behavior

Users should be able to set an exact value of 0 and/or explicitly disable spend limit with a clear saved state.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, this isn’t a bug. The feature is already there, just not on the screen you’re looking at.

To fully turn off on-demand spending, same as 0, go to https://cursor.com/dashboard/spending. In the Monthly Limit dropdown you’ll see three options: Fixed, Unlimited, and Disabled. Pick Disabled and on-demand will be fully off, so you won’t get any usage-based charges.

The $50/$100/$200/$500 presets you’re seeing are probably from the in-composer dialog that shows up when you hit your limit. It only shows options to raise the limit. The actual limit control is in the Dashboard.

A direct $0 value in Fixed mode is not allowed on purpose because it’s ambiguous, block everything vs remove the limit. That’s why there are separate Disabled and Unlimited options to cover both cases clearly.
