Bring back the multiple models toggle and workflow. Please!

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

I used the multiple models toggle extensively and daily. /best-of-n is NOT a replacement …yet… and it’s kind of annoying to have it in a slash command tbh. The toggle was not intrusive and was very easy to use.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open a project that is git-enabled (has remote)
  2. Click the model selection drop down.
  3. Look for the Multiple Models toggle

Expected Behavior

Toggle is there.

Operating System

MacOS

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Yeah what a downgrade.

Any update on this from the Cursor team? This was a critical feature for detailed planning exercises.

Waiting for an answer from the Cursor team. Best-of-n still doesn’t work (ad1e8ec7-40c0-4f92-b4e1-177443e4d251),

Please, bring back the multi model feature, it was a state of art of DEX!!

on every update you do I hope to open the model section and see the multi-models feature back

  1. Feature Restoration: I would like to see the multiple model selection and workflow restored to the Graphical User Interface.
  2. Technical Context: My research confirms that commands such as /worktree, /best-of-n, /apply-worktree, and /delete-worktree are specific to Cursor.
  3. Intended vs. Actual Impact: While the developers likely had positive intentions when simplifying the model dropdown, the change has resulted in unintended consequences for the User Experience.
  4. Human Psychology: From a psychological perspective, users value the freedom of choice; removing the visual selection tool has created unnecessary friction.
  5. Accessibility & Preference:
    • Many users are not comfortable with Command-Line Interface style interactions.

    • A hybrid approach is ideal: maintaining both a dropdown menu and command-based controls.

  6. Conclusion: Allowing the Graphical User Interface and the Command-Line Interface to coexist gives users the flexibility to choose their preferred workflow, which will improve customer satisfaction and user retention.
