Hey guys, I really need some help, i’m trying to use agentdesk browser tools but for some reason it doesn’t work at all. I did install the BrowserToolsMCP chrome extension and it never worked, the mcp on cursor doesn’t work but shows an error:Client Closed. Ive attached a screenshot with error, anyone with a solution, please help
I installed browser tools 2 days ago and it worked fine I had no issues but yesterday it said the same as what you have, “client closed”, and I haven’t been able to make it work so far
what version are you on? Thinking maybe something to do with the recent updates?
Im on the latest version
Do you think like downgrading will fix it for me🥲
Did you start the local server up?
It won’t connect to your browser without the local server running.
If you scroll down pretty far, or search for 3c.
it’ll take you to the section that shows you how to start the local daemon which is required for the communication between MCP and the browser plugin.
Honestly not sure but I’d say it’s worth a shot! Try downgrade and retry, if it works then I’d say it’s probably a bug in the latest release
Do downgrade works?
I got a fix without the downgrade, allow me to share the setup I did tomorrow morning since its night and I’m currently away
I found the root cause! According to Sequential Thinking’s analysis and the documentation content, we made a critical mistake:
What should be configured in the Cursor is the MCP client (browser-tools-mcp
) instead of the server (browser-tools-server
)!
“@agentdeskai/browser-tools-server@1.2.0” → “@agentdeskai/browser-tools-mcp@1.2.0”
Hey, did you run the command ie the “npx @agentdeskai/browser-tools-server@1.2.0”
Hey, you are right, I am having that MCP browser running, how silly I am. Thousand thanks
Glad it worked
