Bug Finder - How is it paid?

So I have this prompt for the Bug Finder. It calculated a whopping 158$ for a tiny feature branch.

I accidentally almost clicked it. Would that mean that I’d be automatically charged 158$??

haha lucky boy!

Hi, you are correct!

As this is very experimental, it’s very expensive as it runs through basically every line changes in your codebase looking for bugs!

You may get that price down drastically by stashing your Git changes that you don’t want scanned. For the price you’re showing, my guess is you have a ton of changes in your commit history.

As it says, you may have no positive results, but we’ve found it to be good enough to trial in Beta internally.

I would be careful with that button though!

@danperks Hi, we really need to have an option to diff against selected branch because there are different git workflows and not all are using the main branch. Also, it would be super helpful to run AI review & bug finder on staged changes to find bugs even before commiting!

Hey, thanks for the suggestions!

The bug finder is still in very early stages, so expect to see some changes and developments in future releases!

It would be deducted directly from the account, correct?

Yes, whatever card is on your account for billing will be used for the payment.

Please tell me there’s some kind of warning/confirmation before it directly bills you that much!
I can see it being muscle memory for some people to click on without thinking.

Hi, that option exists!
You can change the base branch under “Advanced Configuration”.

Yes, it will show a confirmation menu if the cost goes over $10.

Nice! Where can I find this “Advanced Configuration”?

You can find it in the menu that pops up when you run the bug finder, as shown in the screenshot from @Hespro

Since “Enable usage-based pricing” option is disabled in my account, wouldn’t it mean that my account cannot be charged anything beyond what is included in my plan? This new Bug Finder feature seems to be ignoring this account configuration right?

Hey, you are correct!

Usage billing is specifically related to billing for your AI usage in the normal features, and as it says, only applies to the most advanced models available right now!

The bug finder is a separate feature, and will bill your account if you accept the in-app prompt!

Ok, if it is clearly shown in the app that this feature is always charged I see no problems, thanks.

The prompt is shown in the first post, that’s how the prompt looks in the screenshot (although not that expensive usually!)
