Bug Report: Claude 3.5 Chat Stuck on “Responding…” Forever
Checked the forum
I’ve searched the forum and couldn’t find an identical issue reported.
Bug Description
When using the Chat feature with the Claude 3.5 model in Cursor, the conversation suddenly freezes mid-response. After this happens, the model never replies again — the interface just stays stuck on “Responding…” indefinitely.
Restarting Cursor or starting a new chat does not fix it. This issue only occurs with the Claude 3.5 model — GPT models continue to work as expected.
Steps to Reproduce
- Open Cursor and go to the Chat interface.
- Select Claude 3.5 as the model.
- Ask a moderately complex or lengthy question.
- The response hangs and gets stuck on “Responding…”
- All further attempts to chat with Claude 3.5 remain unresponsive, even after restarting.

Yes — Claude 3.5 becomes completely unusable after freezing, making it impossible to use one of the main features of the PRO plan.
