Hello there,

We are trying to enable Bugbot for our Bitbucket Cloud repositories, but the repository list in Bugbot → Repositories does not load any repositories.

Setup details:

  • Bitbucket Cloud integration is connected successfully.
  • Cursor app is installed in our Bitbucket workspace.
  • The connected user has Bitbucket admin access.
  • For non-admin users: Repositories are visible in the Cursor Bitbucket integration. But when attempting to enable Bugbot for a repository, we get:

Failed to enable:
You do not have access to this repository on Bitbucket.

We also tested with Bitbucket admin permissions and received the same error.

Could you please help investigate? It looks like the Bitbucket integration is authenticated correctly, but Bugbot repository discovery/permissions may have an issue with the new Bitbucket Cloud integration.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Connect Bitbucket Cloud integration in Cursor using a Bitbucket user account.
  2. Install the Cursor app in the Bitbucket Cloud workspace.
  3. Navigate to Cursor Dashboard → Bugbot → Installation.
  4. Open the Repositories section.
  5. Try to enable Bugbot for a Bitbucket repository.
  6. Observe that:
  • The repository list does not load/show available Bitbucket repositories.
  • Attempting to enable Bugbot for a repository fails with:
Failed to enable <workspace>/<repository>:
You do not have access to this repository on Bitbucket.
  1. Repeat the same steps with a Bitbucket admin account and observe the same behavior.

Hey @PriyankV,

This is a known bug on our side with the Bitbucket Cloud beta - not a problem with your Bitbucket permissions. The per-repo toggle currently runs a permission check that’s failing for everyone right now, which is the “You do not have access to this repository on Bitbucket” error you’re seeing. Use the Enable All button on the Bugbot Repositories page instead - it enables Bugbot at the workspace level and skips that check.

Two things to confirm:

  • Run it as a Cursor team admin who also has access to the Bitbucket workspace. Managing Bugbot repositories requires the Cursor team admin role, which is separate from being a Bitbucket workspace/repo admin.
  • If repos don’t show up at all, make sure the two-step Bitbucket setup is complete: the Cursor app installed on the workspace and linked to your Cursor team via Connect to Cursor in Bitbucket’s Forge Apps settings.

This is a known issue we’re tracking - I don’t have a fix timeline to share yet, but Enable All should get Bugbot running for you in the meantime.
