I submitted this as feedback in the app, and Sam the AI replied to me saying:
The + control now opens Create new Bot on purpose. If you still want a group chat on desktop, try Ctrl+Shift+N, or open the command palette (Ctrl+K) and run “New group chat.” Those are the current entry points after the + change.
It does work, but that change is extremely asinine.
