I have a Grok Bot Premium account and added a teammate, who accepted the invite, so I’m not on a single-member team. Even so, I can’t create a Team Bot. When I create a new bot in the app, there’s no option to make it a Team Bot. On the dashboard, Manage Team Bots shows a “+ Create new Team Bot” button, but clicking it does nothing: no new bot, no setup flow, and no error.
You don’t need a separate team plan for Team Bots. A team created from a personal plan starts working as a team once a second person joins, and your teammate has already accepted the invite. Based on our data, Team Bots started being created for your team shortly after your post, so there’s a good chance everything is already working now.
In the Grok Bot app, the Create new Bot button always makes a personal Bot. To create a Team Bot:
Click New chat (+)
At the bottom of the list, click Team Bots
Choose Create new Team Bot
You can also do this from the command palette with Create new Team Bot.
At first, only you can see the new Team Bot. Once setup is finished, a Publish to team card will appear in its chat. After you publish it, your teammates will find it under New chat > Team Bots.
The + Create new Team Bot button on the dashboard doesn’t create a Bot in the browser. It opens the Grok Bot desktop app and starts the same flow there. So the app needs to be installed on that computer, and you need to be signed in with the same account. Your browser may first ask for permission to open Grok Bot. If nothing happens, just create the bot directly in the app using the steps above.
If the published Team Bot still doesn’t show up for your teammate, reply here with the bot name and the approximate time you published it.
Hey @Spakoozy, nothing was removed in 0.75.8, and it doesn’t depend on Linux. Since 0.71, the + button in the sidebar opens Create New Bot right away, so that’s why you only see that dialog. That’s expected.
If your “Bot-Team” is a group chat with multiple bots, you can create a new one like this:
Press Ctrl+Shift+N or open the command palette with Ctrl+K and choose New group chat
Add the bots you want and press Enter
There’s more detail about this change in this thread: (+) button bricked in Grok Bot. We also noted there that this path is hard to find right now, and we passed that feedback to the team.
If you meant a Team Bot instead, which is a bot shared with your teammates, that option only appears when the account you’re signed into is part of a Cursor team with at least one other member. In that case, you’ll see Create new Team Bot in the command palette with Ctrl+K.
