Two co-founders, one business, one Grok Bot staff.
We both need to message the same bots — Sales, Ops, Chief of Staff — in our own chats, without sharing one login.
Today that is not possible. Each seat gets its own computer and its own roster. Sharing a bot only creates a copy. Copies do not share memory, files, logins, or conversation history, so they drift immediately.
What we want:
One company roster both of us can talk to
Separate private chats per person
Shared working context (memory / files / tool sessions), not just a template
Template sharing and “shared rooms” (same thread, two people) are useful but not this

You are right that sharing a bot today creates a copy. Bot templates shipped recently as a first step, but they do not carry over live memory or conversation history.
The good news is that deeper team collaboration, where teammates can work with the same bots instead of copies, is something the team is actively working on! Keep an eye on upcoming releases.
that’s great! Please make sure that the transition will be easy. E.g. I invite my cofounder with her own subscription to our bots team, she can join with a few clicks and then our weekly limits add up together.
Great to hear that this is being looked into. My team (Engineering) just jumped into Grok Bot yesterday for the first time and we really like it conceptually but we immediately wanted to create team-level shared bots. Is there a rough ETA for shared bots?
@Colin Also very curious on rough ETA if you might know anything that you’re able to share. Worried to spend a lot of time augmenting this capability with other options, just to have it roll-out in the short-term with Grok Bot.
