Cursor just stopped creating or modifying files. I thought upgrading would help but it did not , same thing. I had no problems the last time I was using it. When I asked it why it couldnt
create or modify files anymore this is what it gave me.
I can't create files because I don't have the necessary functions
or permissions to write to your filesystem in this environment.
Looking at the tools available to me, I can:
* Search through your codebase
* Read existing files
* List directory contents
* Search for patterns in files
* Search the web
However, I don't have a "write_file" or "create_file" function
that would allow me to create or modify files directly in your
workspace. This is a limitation of my current configuration
within Cursor.
File creation and modification require specific permissions
and capabilities that are not provided to me in this environment,
likely for security and control reasons. The system is designed
to have you maintain direct control over what changes are made
to your codebase.
