Hi all!
I have a hard time understanding how the rules and context such as code and docs are working together.
From what I understand:
Rules are added to any chat
When manually adding files, those are also added
When searching in codebase, some keywords (which ones?) are searched into the embeddings, and relevant files added to the context.
What about docs? I understand I need to do @Docs and then reference the docs I want, and it will search into the docs embeddings like with full codebase chat?
Now, I would like to automatize some of these directives, and the way to do that is use the cursor rules. However, we cannot reference docs or files in the rules, so that’s a no go?
Are you folks constantly referring @docs and files in prompts? This seems the most limiting factor to me now, perhaps I’m doing it wrong?
This is a VITAL feature to maximize the value we get out of Cursor. The ability to pipe information and references together needs to be first citizen in the futuristic LLM era. Huge +1, would like to know if this is on the roadmap.
Thanks for sharing @jayarjo … I think notepads are gone as well in the new version (as did the Review tab) … Agents are nice but that new version feels like a regression to me…
