Can we remove this "Review" panel in the agent? (Make it opt-in at least)

A recent version of Cursor switched back to the classic review approach, where clicking a file in the agent’s list of changed files, opened the file in the editor, allowing the classic change diff display and review process to be used. This was great, as the new diff/review tools seemed very buggy/quirky and caused massive disruption to my workflow, and even my understanding of what files still needed to be reviewed.

There is still an issue here, though. It seems after the agent completes work on some prompts (not all, it seems), it decides to show this, instead of the normal changed files list, and clicking on any file in THIS list, STILL opens that new diff/review tool:

I don’t know why this was displayed. There were outstanding changes to about 1/3rd of these files that had new changes I needed to review. I wasn’t sure which files they were, though, because this list is a global list of ALL the files that changed throughout the entire history of this particular chat, which involved several prompts. The latest prompt was to resolve build and lint errors. So this new “diff/review” feature, is STILL disrupting my workflow. Clicking files when this “Review” mode is in play, opens the new diff/review tool, a tool I honestly want nothing to do with as it does not show me the changes I actually need to see. Most of the changes here, were reviewed and resolved to my liking previously, as I review after every single prompt in a given chat. Its a progressive approach, that is completely disrupted by having ANY of this new review mode injected into the process.

I really want NOTHING to do with the new diff/review mode. I really wish we could simply turn it off entirely, and go back to what we had before, which was a far more deterministic approach to reviewing and accepting/rejecting changes made by the agent. Since the new review mode makes ZERO distinction between recent changes (i.e. from the last prompt in the chat) vs. ALL changes from the ENTIRE chat, it makes it very hard to know a) what really needs to be reviewed relative to the most recent edits and b) which changes were actually made in the recent edits. This list does not show any of the quick inline review tools, either, which we used to have in the classic list of changes to be reviewed, and when you know the changes to a file can be accepted without having to actually look at them (i.e. Claude models INSIST, but only when used within Cursor for some reason, on generating countless useless .md files all over the place!!), you can simply accept the changes right in the list.

Also, this list, for whatever reason, does not seem to respond to CTRL+CLICK, so every click always opens the new review tool. I just HATE this diff/review feature that was introduced with….2.1, IIRC. Its just a hateful, disruptive THING that has interjected itself into a workflow I had that worked PERFECTLY FINE before. We’ve regained a portion of the previous behavior, however, not all of it, and some of the bugs from the new diff/review tool also still seem to be affecting the classic mode. I would REALLY prefer to have what we had before, exactly as it worked before…without ANY of this new diff/review tool junk interjecting itself and messing with my flow. Thus far, it has not provided a single positive benefit to my work, and is constantly slowing me down and preventing me from seeing/finding the changes I NEED TO SEE and REVIEW.
