Cannot download Cursor setup

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Describe the Bug
Downloading the setup executable is so slow that I can’t download within a day.

Also https://status.cursor.com/ shows no sign of website outage while it appears to me a very important service of the website is broken. Could you please check what happened?

Steps to Reproduce
How can you reproduce this bug? We have a much better chance at fixing issues if we can reproduce them!

  1. Go to Dasboard

  2. Click on Download for Windows

  3. Notice that the download is very slow and sometimes stops comepletely

Expected Behavior
I can download and open the IDE

Does this stop you from using Cursor?

  • Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor
  • No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the report.

It looks like this might be related to the network on your side.

A couple things to try:

  1. A different browser: some browsers handle downloads differently
  2. VPN: if you’re using a VPN, try turning it off. If you’re not using one, try turning it on and routing through a different region

Also, could you confirm:

  • Which country or region are you downloading from?
  • Are you on a corporate network, or using any kind of proxy?

Hi Dean,

Thank you for investigating my report. I don’t think this is a network issue in my end. Every other site/download and network related operation works as expected, I only have issues with downloading the Cursor setup executable. I have tried from 3 different browsers and I can see the same result. I am trying to download it from Budapest (Hungary).

Also I don’t use VPN or Proxy.

Please let me know if you need any other details.
