In desktop Cursor, there is no button on the On-Demand Setting panel that allow me to switch it on. It is just a string stated as “Disabled”. When I try to save the Monthly Limit setting to Unlimited, it shows “Failed to save on demand limit”.
Steps to Reproduce
In desktop Cursor → Setting → Plan & Usage
Seeing the On-Demand Setting is disabled but it does not has button to allow me turn it on
In On-Demand Usage, toggle the monthly limit to Unlimited/ Fixed
Click Save and the error pops up
Expected Behavior
There should be button for me to enable the On-Demand Setting.
More info: I subscribed the plan via iOS app and I do not see the on-demand setting in iOS app.
The reason there’s no toggle and the save fails is that on-demand usage isn’t available on plans purchased through the Apple App Store. In-app subscriptions are billed by Apple, and Cursor doesn’t hold a payment method for them, so there’s nothing for on-demand usage to be charged against. That’s also why the setting doesn’t appear in the iOS app. The “Failed to save on-demand limit” message isn’t giving you the real reason there, and it shouldn’t be showing the editor as usable in the first place, so we’ve let the team know to make that clearer.
To use on-demand, the subscription needs to be billed through cursor.com. An Apple subscription and a web subscription can’t both be active at the same time, so the steps are:
Cancel the in-app subscription through Apple (on your iPhone: Settings, tap your name/Apple Account, then Subscriptions).
Let it run to the end of your current billing period.
Once it lapses, subscribe again at cursor.com, and on-demand can be enabled from your dashboard.
