Check the forum
I have searched the forum and GitHub Issues; I did not find any existing report about “gemini flash” missing from Inline Edit after upgrading to 0.51.1 or 0.51.2.
Clear description of the bug
After upgrading from 0.50.x to Cursor 0.51.1, and then to 0.51.2, the “gemini flash” model no longer appears in the Inline Edit dropdown. I rely on “gemini flash” for quick code edits, but now it’s completely absent—other Gemini-based models still show up in Chat mode, but not under Inline Edit.
How to reproduce the bug
- Install or update Cursor to 0.51.1 (or 0.51.2).
- Go to Settings → Models , and ensure that both Gemini 2.5 Pro and Gemini 2.5 Flash Preview 05-20 are enabled.
- Open a file (or create a new one), then enter Inline Edit mode.
- Click the model selector dropdown—observe that “gemini flash” is not listed. (Note: In Chat mode, “gemini flash” still appears because “Gemini 2.5 Flash Preview 05-20” is enabled, but Inline Edit does not show it.)
Screenshots or recordings
- Screenshot 1: Inline Edit model dropdown showing no “gemini flash.”
- Screenshot 2: Chat mode model dropdown showing “gemini flash” is available.(Attach your .png or .jpg files here.)
Operating system and Cursor version
- macOS, Cursor 0.51.1 (also tested on macOS, Cursor 0.51.2 )
- I upgraded from Cursor 0.50.x, where “gemini flash” was available in Inline Edit.
Does this issue stop you from using Cursor?
Yes. Since I use “gemini flash” exclusively in Inline Edit for my workflow, I cannot proceed with inline code edits until “gemini flash” appears again.
Thank you for looking into this. If there is any other information I can provide—additional logs, settings screenshots, or steps—I’m happy to share. Best regards!
