Cannot open Cursor on Mac after down grading it

I updated Cursor today (04/09/2025) using the app’s update popup. Then it keeps disconnecting from my ssh remote environment every few minutes. So I downloaded the previous version 0.47 and overwrote it on top of the current version in /Applications/Cursor.

Now Cursor UI does not open for me anymore. I’ve tried:

  1. Restarted computer, twice
  2. Cleaned up ~/Library/Application\ Support/Cursor
  3. Tried both 0.47 and 0.48 Cursor-darwin-universal.dmg

Please help. Thank you

I found an older version in the trash, and that one is working. By the look of the name of the app, it’s probably auto backed up by cursor updater. But now, I can’t update that version to the latest.
