Can't Chat with Codebase on Windows – Editor Error Despite File Existing

Hi team,

I’m running into an issue on Windows 11 where I can’t chat with my codebase in Cursor. Everything seems to be synced correctly (188 files, 100% indexed), but when I try to open the editor or initiate a codebase chat, I get this error:

The editor could not be opened due to an unexpected error: Unable to resolve resource
c:\Users\diego\AppData\Roaming\Cursor\User\workspaceStorage\4e4ac64f620fc938847062fcabaef228\canysphere.cursor-retrieval\embeddable_files.txt

I’ve checked and the path and file do exist. I also searched the forum and GitHub issues but couldn’t find a solution that works for me.

I’ve already tried:

  • Restarting Cursor
  • Deleting and resyncing the index
  • Running Cursor as administrator
  • Reinstalling Cursor

Still, the problem persists. Any help would be greatly appreciated. :folded_hands:

Thanks in advance!

Hey, try clearing the codebase, then navigate to the folder and delete it, reindex, and try again.

I do this and not work.

I’m experiencing the same issue. I also tried deleting the folder and re-indexing it, but the error still appears. It seems like Cursor can still access the codebase and recognizes it, but I’m not entirely sure if it has any negative impact, I can’t really test that. I didn’t see this error before; I could easily check what was indexed and what wasn’t. Now, I just get the error message and nothing else. I’d really appreciate it if anyone has a solution.

There is no solution for this and anybody cares. Just see the forum since 2022 have report some like this and if anyone receive a solution was for him self
