Can't detect relevant files or add folders to context

Whenever issues arrive with new release I can deal with them and find my ways around, except for the new context selector UX and functionality. Here are my issues now:

  1. Combining Files and Folders isn’t very wise, we used to have @ for files and @/ for folders which was super helpful, now we don’t.
  2. It used to have smart suggestions and can tell what should I select next, now it is just random files.
  3. if you don’t open the file it will not be easily found in the context suggestions.
  4. Folders are harder than ever to add as context and even if I write the full folder name it doesn’t appear.

Just found another Topic with the same issue.

Is your codebase index completing?

I’ve had issues similar to this where I failed to add large folders to .cursorignore and the codebase index wasn’t able to complete. It would only show/find those that were indexed.

If it isn’t hung, you could try reindexing fully and see if that solves the problem.

having mostly the opposite experience i would guess that other factors have influence. length of your chat, content size and context size.

Its noticable when a chat goes too long that more and more hallucinations occur, but thats not necessarily an issue with Cursor IDE

Well, I really try all those workarounds before reporting, I think this time the context is broken.

Yes, this happens mostly on large codebases. However, I’ve noticing this every time on both cases.
