Can't find amy files ("No available options") after indexing

Cursor appears unable to find any of my files. I can’t reference them via @, or by clicking the “@ Add context” button unless they’re currently open.

If I go into settings and click “See all included files”, an error pops up:

The editor could not be opened due to an unexpected error: Unable to resolve resource c:%5CUsers%5CTyler%5CAppData%5CRoaming%5CCursor%5CUser%5CworkspaceStorage%5C3653eb2bc6599e9730b9cb820a2c8c2e%5Canysphere.cursor-retrieval%5Cembeddable_files.txt

I can navigate to that directory and open this file an editor, and it definitely exists.

I’ve tried:

  • Resyncing the Index
  • Deleting the index and recomputing it
  • Opening and attempting to use different projects in different directories
  • Waiting a few hours
  • Uninstalling, reinstalling, manually deleting all files, restarting my computer, throwing nearby objects

I’m running Windows 11 and Cursor 0.49.6, although I tried updating to the newest beta (0.50.3), and the bug exists in that version as well.

I’ve been able to restore some functionality after deleting and re-adding all of the repositories on my computer (and reinstalling Cursor again), flushing the entire filesystem index in Windows, and purging several other caches, but there appear to be several issues which still remain.

  1. When I click “Add context” and “Files & Folders”, nothing appears initially. But I’m able to find files to include once I begin to type
  2. I’m unable to find or add directories to the context
  3. Files that should be ignored according to my .cursorignore are not ignored
  4. The “See all included files” button (in the “Codebase Indexing” portion of the settings) pulls up a file that is empty
  5. Oddly, the Cursor icon which appears on the Taskbar when I launch the app is just a “blank page” icon
