I have 0.8.5 cursor on linux. I tried setting it to index by default but it still says “you have not indexed any code yet”
I think it is just a bug.
The code is actually indexed, but the sentence remains.

Yes we have several known indexing bugs. I believe your code is indexed, but the UI indicates otherwise. We should have a fix for this and several other indexing bugs around tuesday/wednesday
