Can't send messages after ~100k tokens

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

After most conversations progress to a certain point (~100k tokens), I suddenly can’t send any more messages. It loads for a second then goes back to the input without warning for me to send again (as if I cancelled it). Not from Max mode or otherwise.
This means an often abrupt end to my conversation in the middle of debugging. Sometimes I can get it to continue by removing some of the attached files from my message, but not always. Switching models will let the message send, but that’s obviously a poor workaround
I have all MCP servers disabled.

Steps to Reproduce

Have a reasonably long/contextual conversation

Expected Behavior

The message will send, not cancel itself.

For AI issues: which model did you use?

Gemini 2.5-Pro (Max or otherwise)

For AI issues: add Request ID with privacy disabled

It’s not throwing. It’s auto-cancelling

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Sometimes - I can sometimes use Cursor

Hey, thanks for the report. Could you let me know if you’re using your own API key or the model from your subscription? Also, could you share the request ID as well? You’ll need to disable privacy mode first.
