Describe the request
I want to be able to upload document files from my computer into the chat so I can add extra context to the agent. This would be very helpful!

As a workaround, you can try asking the Agent to read a file at a given path for now. Yesterday, I suddenly saw the Agent reading screenshots I’d previously sent him in Chat, so read_tool can apparently handle more than just text.
Also you can drag’n’drop pictures.
Yes you are right about it but I actually meant files unrelated to the codebase that are saved locally in computer. For example, I tried to upload an excel file directly to the chat and it didn’t work . Then I dropped it into the file editor in my codebase so that agent could get access to but still was unable to read it.
Then you need to request extended file support in Chat. Or even specifically request xlsx support.
