Try opening the HTML project folder directly from your desktop in Cursor. This will allow Chat to access the files in your workspace. Make sure all related CSS, JavaScript, and asset files are included so it can understand the complete layout and structure.

Hey Katerina, good news, you don’t need to wait for a new feature. You can bring HTML into chat right now. A few ways:

  1. Open the project folder directly in Cursor: File > Open Folder. After that, you can @-mention the .html file in the composer and the agent will read the source. Like @Emmanuel-smith suggested, keep related CSS, JS, and assets nearby so the structure is easy to follow.
  2. You can drag and drop the .html file from Explorer or from disk straight into the input field, it will become a file mention.
  3. If you need to show the visual layout, not the code, paste a screenshot of the rendered page. Images are supported as full attachments, and the agent will see the actual visuals.

For now, the three options above should fully cover it. Let me know if anything isn’t working.
