Chat stopped giving answers yesterday

Are we sure it works. Because it does not give me any option to apply changes.

Why is that?

For it worked after a started a new composer. It has been working since. It sounded it stopped working when I add a screenshot that I wanted show. Cursor. Does dropping a picture into Cursor works?

中途停止提供答案这个问题,我是经常遇见的,无论是Composer还是Chat,并且是非常频繁的出现,有时候是直接挂了,有时候是一直显示正在生成中。

The issue of stopping providing answers in the middle of the process is one that I’ve encountered quite often, both with Composer and Chat, and it’s very frequent, sometimes it just hangs, sometimes it keeps showing that it’s in the process of being generated.

Mine still isn’t giving answers, I noticed i’d used all 500 requests so paid for another 2000 requests but it’s still not working 24 hours later.

Apologies for being “me too” guy. I can get a couple of answers out of composer, but then it without fail does “generating…” forever. A new composer work, but I lose all my context (natch). This in Linux, Cursor [ed: correction] 0.43.5, Claude 3.5 sonnet.

As a data point, don’t know if it is useful, I was never able to get “long context” beta to work on previous versions of cursor. I don’t see the option now in 0.42 (I might have missed it). I think (but can’t prove) it hangs once I have added images and links to the chat. But I am not sure so don’t read too much into it.

Love Cursor, hope it can be resolved.

The composer has stopped and it comes up as generating. I have restarted uninstalled/reinstalled - done everything but no luck. I had not response from the Cursor team hi@cursor.com. Can anyone help, I can see there are others with similar problem but anything that I can try to resolve. Thx team

I had this issue too, seems a lot of people did. Today its better but on and off. Had to restart composer chats several times, which is bad for context memory! Would be great to get some feedback as to what went wrong. Im wondering how much of the interaction passes through Cursor’s servers before being sent to the LLM or on the way back, seems that might be the bottleneck since Sonnet is working fine directly.

Edit: as the day wears on it’s proving to be another incredibly frustrating day with multiple long response and apply delays, meaning restarting the composer is the only way to make it work, bringing with it massive loss of context and damage to working code.

same here. composer stopped working yesterday. generation fails.

same error. Chat says generating and not accepting new questions. I run cursor on linux and I see this error as I do launch cursor from terminal

Is not working for me anymore, has anyone found a solution, Oh, I just aske few real humans a question, it’s been a while :stuck_out_tongue:

For me is not the chat, chat works fine, for me is the composer that hangs sometimes. I’ve cleared the cache as instructed, restarted, signed out and back in, reinstalled it, and nothing.

The only thing that works is closing that Composer and forcing a New Composer to start.

It’s like it gets stuck in the context of the first composer window, and there’s no way out of it.

Huge fan, thanks for the work!

got the same situation . is cursor working on it? i left project yesterday to work on it today but chat and composer dont respond anymore. how to solved this problem. i ve upgraded to pro and this also dosent helped

Yeah. None of the AI related features are working for me :frowning: Can’t even rollback to a previous version. Really annoying

I’m getting this now on any of the ai.

I gotta try some greek too! might do the trick  :greece:

I also encountered the same problem, in fact, today is not the first time I have encountered this problem. At first, I thought it was accidental and restarted the project (giving up all the context, I need to rebuild AI’s understanding of the project), but a few days later when I continued editing, I encountered COMPOSER no response again. Perhaps this AI model has been frozen? I’m not sure, but at least you should give us an answer

. Account Login and Switching:

  • I have experienced significant difficulties logging in to my account, particularly when attempting to use my Gemini or OpenAI credentials.
  • I have encountered errors where the system fails to recognize my login attempts, even after successful authentication.
  • I am unable to seamlessly switch between my two accounts (for which I am paying a combined $80 per month) within the same project. This severely hinders my workflow and collaboration with colleagues.
  • The issue where the system incorrectly identifies me as not being part of the group when switching accounts is unacceptable and urgently needs to be resolved.

2. Subscription and Account Cancellation Issues:

  • After canceling one of my second account subscriptions ( was not cancel I still can acces ) to resolve the account switching issue, I am now unable to access my remaining active subscription.
  • I attempted to migrate to an OpenAI subscription ($200) to resolve these issues, but encountered further complications.
  • These ongoing account issues have significantly impacted my productivity and ability to utilize Cursor effectively.
… I added 100$ (too test ) to my account but it was rejected …

3. Cursor Performance and Limitations:

  • I have observed a significant decline in Cursor’s performance, particularly when working on projects with multiple inquiries.
  • The system has become increasingly slow and unresponsive, often halting progress and preventing me from switching between AI models or accessing existing solutions.
  • The inability to seamlessly switch between different AI models and access project history is a major hindrance to efficient workflow.
  • The lack of reliable project history access and the inability to recover or reuse previous work are unacceptable and create significant workflow disruptions.
