My account is Pro, not the free version. In the morning, I used Chat for programming and development. However, after taking a break in the afternoon, when I tried to continue, I found that no response was being generated. It remained stuck in the “generation” status.
Try restarting the Cursor app.
I’ve tried restarting my computer and the software, but it didn’t help.

Hello, how can I resolve this issue? When I ask questions in the old chat, I don’t receive a response, and it doesn’t consume Premium models credits. However, if I start a new chat or use the composer, I get a response, but it consumes Premium models credits. How should I proceed?
I have three chats, one of which was created during the free account period and is still active. The conversation continues and consumes Premium models credits. However, for the other two chats, if I continue asking questions, I don’t receive any responses, and no Premium models credits are consumed. This is quite strange. What could be the reason? Can it be resolved? If I create a new chat or use the composer, I would have to provide the AI with all the content from my previous project development for it to read and understand, right? Otherwise, it might be difficult to ensure the same development requirements as before.
Sometimes the chat or Composer stops responding. This can happen for several reasons: the model might be temporarily unavailable, or the context window might have overflowed. You’ll need to start a new session and provide the necessary context.
OMG~ so sad.Is this the only solution? That’s really disappointing. I hope this can be improved in the future. Otherwise, for those of us who are not professional developers, it’s almost catastrophic to have to reorganize all the content from scratch.
I understand that this causes a lot of inconvenience, I’ve experienced it myself and hope that this problem will be resolved soon.
thanks
I’d recommend using Composer with Claude Sonnett 3.5
All attempts failed. Had to start a new Composer. This seems to be the only solution so far.
yes~so sad
I got this same problem as well,
What I usually do is when i need a break or save for another day, I ask Cursor to write a brief of what we have worked and then I can copy into a new chat
