Choosing how to handle rate limits on models

I’m getting these popups:

Am I supposed to intuit what’s behind each ellipsis? I’d rather not since it involves money. :man_shrugging:

Is this forum the only way to reach anyone? The Help menu in the app doesn’t provide a way to get help. Nor “About Cursor”. I searched https://cursor.com/?from=home for “Help”, “Support”, and “Contact”, and there’s nothing there. I tried clicking around a few pages deeper in the site, and couldn’t find those strings anywhere else, either. Again: :man_shrugging:

first is switch model to auto which will route your requests to a free model that has no usage limits, second is upgrade to a higher tier with higher rate limits, third is enable usage based pricing, meaning you pay for each request you make

Switch to using auto mode. No project needs a specific model. Especially for every request.

My initial point was that a UI inviting me to spend more money should be clearer than “Switch Mod…” and “Upgrade to P…”. I mean, if I were to ask you about your herm…, I’m sure you’d want me to expound my basili… before you committed to abreg…

I tried each of the options, just trying to get back to work. I have genuinely no idea what I’m going to be billed. And it didn’t help that I upgraded to Pro Plus and started getting error messages suggesting I “upgrade” to Pro. What a mess.

Why do you say that? It all goes back to garbage in garbage out. It just so happens that claude is great at polishing turds.
