Clarity on Cursor + Supermaven

I have a trial of Supermaven at 10$ per month - I was using it in VSCode until I tried Cursor. Now I have a Supermaven tab at the bottom next to Cursor tab. I was under the impression that Cursor.AI is not logged in to Cursor and was generating code using Supermaven.

Today I hit the requests limit and a popup directed me to Cursor billing page where I see my requests being counted.

I see blog post saying that Supermaven joined Cursor.AI. Should I cancel their service? I’m not sure if it is already built in to the project.

My confusion stems from the fact that I “skipped” login to Cursor and was under the impression that I was not logged in. It was just “working”, but after the update I’m not sure how it logged me in.
Please clarify.

Hey,

My guess is that you’ve imported your VSCode extensions into Cursor, and we don’t filter out Supermaven for you, hence why you are seeing it in Cursor!
You should be able to remove the Supermaven plugin from Cursor and use Cursor Tab instead.

You should only want one of the two subscription, as Cursor Tab is a very similar feature to Supermaven.
