Claude 4 keeps looping and deleting files

Describe the Bug

For 3 days now Claude pro MAX keeps looping when I ask it to continue to work, but it keeps reverting to old issue.

That is even after I specifically tell it this multiple times!
It acknowledges it and then it loops to previous issue again.

On top of that, it deletes files it has created/edited as well in the current session.

Quite frustrating for a 60$/month subscription.

What is going on?

Steps to Reproduce

Claude keeps looping and deleting my files.

Operating System

Windows 10/11

Current Cursor Version (Menu → About Cursor → Copy)

Version: latest update!

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Apologies for the loop issues, they should be fixed now as we made an update internally.

In case you see the issue again could you please post a Request ID with privacy disabled so we can look into the details? Cursor – Getting a Request ID

OK, will report the next time it happens.

And waht about when I revert the changes to previous messages?
It tends to delete modified files as well.

I have to make sure not to revert the changes in code but only in chat history, to stop it from deleting files.

The revert issue from 1.3.0 should be fixed in 1.3.2 that has been released.

Which version are you on now?

In case you have kept the Update Channel on Default and were upgraded from 1.2.4 by accident you can download current stable version 1.2.4 from Downloads | Cursor - The AI Code Editor, otherwise update to 1.3.2.

If you still see the issue in latest version, please let me know so I can file a new report.

I’m on 1.3.0 currently.

Will test 1.3.2 and if that doesn’t work, then I will downgrade to 1.2.4.
