When I create a new chat files are automatically added. I would like a clear context button that would delete all files in the context (except perhaps the file I’m currently on)

Hey, thanks for the feature request, we will consider it.
So far I like using cursor, but not being able to exclude context is driving me nuts. There are a lot of things I want to ask that I don’t want tainted by what’s in the codebase. And there are a lot of cases where asking for certain functionality to be implemented is better of considered in the abstract.
there is a setting for it to not automatically add context and you can also modify the chat mode and configure as needed. probably not perfect but im almost certain you can accomplish what you need
This actually turned out not to be my problem so much. I heard that claude-4-sonnet was “the best”, so I figured “why not start out with the best.” I didn’t realize how different it was going to be from everything else and that it’s pretty much set to overachiever. I kept doing stuff i didn’t like in different parts of the code base and stuff I didn’t ask for.
If I had started with gpt-4.1, I would not have felt the itch to make the comment I did.
