Close Chat button does not close the chat

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

with a single chat tab open the chat is not closed when choosing “close chat”. it just hides the side panel

Steps to Reproduce

  • click the three dots and select “close chat”
  • click the x for “close chat”
  • do anything else that’s meant to “close chat”

Expected Behavior

the chat is closed

Hey, thanks for the report. The close (X) button should close the Cursor Tab chat itself, but instead it just hides the sidebar and the chat stays open.

The X button in the top panel is acting wrong right now. There’s an active UI bugs megathread here [Megathread] Cursor layout and UI feedback, can you add your feedback there?
