Cmd + backspace deletes something outside of chat window on OSX

Hello!

It could be that this is different on Windows, I’m not sure.

So there’s this keyboard shortcut that not everyone use, but I use it all the time. Cmd+Backspace deletes the current line so you can start anew. It works systemwide on OSX and is well supported. However, in Cursor’s chat window, when I press it, something is deleted outside of this chat window, which is super annoying! And it’s hard to track.

Just press Cmd+Backspace in chat window.

:camera: Attach screenshots or recordings (e.g., .jpg, .png, .mp4).

Not needed.

:laptop: Tell us your operating system and your Cursor version (e.g., Windows, 0.x.x).

Cursor 0.47.8, OSX 14.2.1

:prohibited: Tell us if the issue stops you from using Cursor.

Doesn’t stop but it doesn’t help

Hey, do you mean that using the shortcut deletes something in your file system or in the project?

HUGE +1

On Mac, cmd+delete typically means “delete text to the beginning of the line” In Cursor chat, it means something like, “delete all of the edits since last chat.”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been editing a subsequent prompt and accidentally deleted all changes from the last prompt. The worst part is - you have no idea what was deleted! I typically have to run the last prompt over again. Mega easy fix, mega big pain removed.

The thing is, it’s very hard to say what happens. I see something is happening but I’m not exactly sure what.
