Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

When selecting Commit & Push you need to wait around 30s-1m or more, this should be faster like Github Copilot does.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey @Xenius, thanks for the report.

The Commit & Push button in the agent chat works differently from Copilot’s: it asks the agent (using whatever model you have selected in that chat) to stage, write the commit message, commit and push as separate steps, so it usually takes several model round trips plus the git commands themselves. With a heavier model like Grok 4.6 High that lands at roughly 30 seconds to a minute, which matches what you are seeing.

If you want the quick, Copilot-style path, use the Source Control panel instead (Ctrl+Shift+G):

  1. Click the sparkle icon next to the commit message box to generate a message. This uses a small, fast model regardless of your chat model.
  2. Click the dropdown arrow next to Commit and choose Commit & Push.

That runs git directly and finishes in a few seconds.
