Describe the Bug

After the 44.5 update, the cursor in the composer as agent mode is failing all the time, it is unable to apply all the changes, it apologizes and gives the error that the apply model failed

This is making me spend more fast model requests, for an action that used to take one, I just spent 16 to complete a file, even though I’m a pro, it doesn’t make sense to use it like that, I’m wasting requests for nothing due to a bug

Steps to Reproduce

run composer in agent mode

Expected Behavior

stop generating the same solution in pieces, generate the complete solution

Additional Information

Does this stop you from using Cursor

Yes - Cursor is unusable

I’m on version 0.44.3 and since I updated it from 0.43 there has been a ton of failed attempts of applying changes. Before 0.44 I have never had an issue where the agent simply is stuck in a loop of making some changes, then writing something like ‘I apologize for the error. Let me try a simpler version:’, applying other changes and again apologizes and tries again.

Hey, we did change the apply model for one that should be more stable recently, but there may be an issue with composer sessions that have a mixture of the old and new model, as the LLM has to interface with it differently behind the scenes!

Can you confirm if this issue is still present if you start a new composer agent session, or just in sessions you had underway before the update?

Thanks

I can clearly say that in addition to solving these bugs in the current version 44.8, I still have feedback about the cursor rules, which is simply fantastic with the composer agent.
