Yes, I have the same issue here… I sent an email to Cursor’s email and I received this as answer:
Thanks for providing those details! I’ve forwarded this to a teammate who can better investigate the project creation error. They’ll get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, have a look in the forum (https://forum.cursor.com) where someone might already have solved the solution. We have a long queue, but my teammate will get back to you as soon as possible!
And after this nobody else answered. That’s a shame!!!
how many days that they response to you on that?
They answered just twice, and until now I didn’t receive any email from them.
Cursor has been very slow or inconsistent and sessions often end with a connection failure. Near impossible to use confidently now. Frustrating.

(05/25/2025) Version 0.5was working for weeks. No VPN used. All networking is otherwise fine.
I over installed to version 0.45.15, launched Cursor, verified 0.45.15 version, ask a question and got this message:
Free & free trial accounts can no longer use chat with premium models on Cursor Version 0.45 or less. Please upgrade to Pro or use Cursor Version 0.46 or later. Install Cursor at Downloads | Cursor - The AI Code Editor or update from within the editor."
I then over installed version 0.46.11 and Cursor agent began working again.
I’ve just installed Cursor, wrote about 10 prompts, and I’m facing the same issue. Maybe it’s not tied to the free trial version?
