Describe the Bug
Cursor keeps saying “This file is being edited by another chat”, but I only have one chat going so it seems like this must be impossible.
Steps to Reproduce
It’s intermittent and I don’t know how to reproduce it, but the request id is 5176e520-87f3-4e54-b7af-db406e8c794d.
Expected Behavior
If you only have one chat going, it shouldn’t be possible for another chat to be editing it, so you shouldn’t see this message.

Describe the Bug
Started in 1.3.5 for me, present in 1.3.7.
I believe, after a file has been edited by a chat (or for some other reason), then I get constant File is being edited by another chat monits.
Supper annoying!
Steps to Reproduce
Work with the same files in consecutive chats, I guess.
Expected Behavior
Edit the files! No other process is trying to edit them in parallel! Never had that issue before.

hi @CK-iRonin.IT and thank you for the bug report.
When this error shows, has the file edit been accepted in previous chat?
No, I rarely use “accept”.

Thanks, I forwarded the issue to our engineers.
Even if I click Keep All it still would ask me about files.
Without a sound alert for all actions requiring user input this can waste chats if missed.

Describe the Bug
While working on a fairly big change that should just go automatically, Cursor is repeatedly stopping for approval. It says “File is being edited in another chat.” However, there is no other chat.
It isn’t happening on every file or every time. Unfortunately, it seems kind of random.
Steps to Reproduce
I suspect that maybe it is happening when the same chat wants to make multiple changes to the same file? Or changes that affect a line from earlier?
Expected Behavior
It’s supposed to be on ‘auto’. Just do the changes automatically.

I guess, in general, more granular settings for what to auto-accept would be really helpful.
