Context Menu Layering and Navigation Buttons Visibility Issue

Where does the bug appear (feature/product)?

Cursor IDE

Describe the Bug

Right-clicking the Toggle Panel button shows the menu underneath the window controls instead of on top. Also, after switching the agent side, Go Forward and Go Back buttons are not visible when certain panels (e.g., Source Code or Debug) are on the left side.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. When I hover over the Toggle Panel button and right-click, the context menu does not appear on top of the global UI. Instead, it is rendered underneath the maximize/minimize/close window controls.

  2. It seems this issue has already been mentioned in the community: after clicking Switch Agent Side, if features such as Source Code / Debug are positioned on the left side of the screen, the Go Forward and Go Back buttons become invisible.

Does this stop you from using Cursor

No - Cursor works, but with this issue

Hey, thanks for the detailed report.

About the navigation buttons (Go Forward/Back), this is a known issue and the team is already working on a fix. A similar report is here: Navigation controls disappearing from toolbar

About the Toggle Panel context menu that renders under the window buttons, I’ll pass this to the team. It looks like a new z-index layering issue.

Neither bug blocks work, but I get that they’re annoying. The team is aware.

Thanks for the quick reply and for passing this along. I understand, and I appreciate the team’s efforts on these fixes.
