I believe is maybe because of the dots before the brackets.
I have to copy from the editor, to my local notpad, remove the spaces before the brackets and then I’m able to paste in the code or text.

Yes, I have noticed this behaviour.
It happens with most characters that are not ‘normal letters’.
If the line does not start with a normal letter, then it does not paste.
If you paste in another text editor, remove those characters, and then copy and paste again, it works.
You might want to re-categorise this topic as a Bug Report, as I think it is a bug.

I’ve run into this as well. Cut, paste and copy with the mouse right click in all of the chat boxes would be greatly appreciated! Key strokes work but not the mouse.
